You’ve probably been wondering, “What the heck is going on at the old Island Café?”

We’re opening a restaurant!

Fried fish sandwich with lettuce, tomato, cheese, coleslaw, and a lemon wedge

Pal’s! A seafood shack, neighborhood bar, coffee shop, and corner store all-in-one, right here at Tomahawk Bay Marina. Open from sunup to sundown – work here, live here, or both, our aim is to be your local.

Think: Pacific Northwest Fish Shack vibes. Familiar, fun. The food is made using responsibly sourced ingredients. Don’t worry, we'll still have a great burger (curly fries!), plenty of delicious salads and bowls, and softserve!

At the bar, order whatever makes you feel good. You’ll have some of the best cocktails in Portland, beer from the region, and wine made the right way. When the sun is shining, you’ll drink patio pounders and when the sun is hiding, we’ll bring the party inside for an island-influenced, VFW hall feel.

We’ll serve Coava coffee with all the fixin’s. The store sells the same organic produce and sundries we use in the restaurant. We’ll keep inventory fresh and interesting, and prices down.

Landscape design plan showing various zones including play areas, lawns, planting areas, a tent, a stage, seating, fire pits, and pathways, with notes on materials and features.
A pink frozen beverage with ice, garnished with a lemon slice and a straw, on a table by a lake with boats and trees in the background on a sunny day.

We’re very excited about the improvements to the outdoor space. Fire pits, plenty of outdoor tables, lawn games, and a stage, all overlooking the marina. We’re filling out the calendar with music and events, (think: brewery cookouts, wine dinners on the deck, coffee education, etc.).

Timeline of a construction project showing demolition in February, permit and lawn remodel starting in March, continued lawn remodel through April, masonry beginning in May, and opening in June.

We’re already hard at work, and looking forward to seeing you this summer.

We’re just getting started. Let's be part of a community, together. Starting anything is tough, but we promise to adapt. Bring the family to the playground and spend more time enjoying the outdoors with your Pals.
